- You will need:
1 cup V60 pourover
1 cup V60 paper filter
200ml water heated just before boiling
15g of freshly roasted coffee medium grind
- Step 1
Place filter paper in the V60, then place V60 over your mug/server and rinse the whole thing with hot water to eliminate any taste of paper and warm the server.
- Step 2
Empty the hot water out and place the mug and brewer onto your scales, then tare off to zero. Add your coffee to the filter and give it a gentle shake so it sits flat and evenly (tare again).
Using your kettle, add 30ml of water, or enough to evenly saturate the coffee without much dripping though. Fun fact.. This is called a Bloom.
- Step 3
Let this sit for 30 seconds. Once the 30 seconds have passed, keep adding water gently, pouring in small, slow circles, until your scale measures 200ml. You may need to stop and start to ensure there is no overspill…
- STEP 4
Bang! You’re done! The entire process should take a little over two minutes for the full volume to brew. (Allow extra time depending on the amount of coffee you use).
Grind tip: Apart from flavour, brewing time is the best indicator for troubleshooting any brewing issues. If it pours too quickly – or the finished cup is lacking in flavour – it’s probably too coarse. If the water pools and doesn’t drain your grind is probably too fine.
