- You will need:
Aeropress
Filter paper/ discs
Cup/Mug
Stirrer
Scales
Timer
200ml fresh water heated just before boiling.
15g of freshly roasted coffee, medium-coarse grind - Step 1
Place the filter inside the cap and screw it onto the Aeropress. Pre-heat the Aeropress and your cup with hot water. Once hot, position the Aeropress over your vessel, filter end down, and add the coffee to the brew chamber.
- Step 2
Start the timer and add just enough water to saturate the coffee. Let this sit for 15-20 seconds.Add the remainder of the water and stir gently for 15 – 20 seconds, then insert the end of the plunger.
- Step 3
Using firm, even pressure, press down on the plunger – stopping just before the rubber meets the grounds. This should take about 30 seconds.
Note: It is important to plunge with slow, even pressure. If you push with too much pressure it will compact the coffee and lengthen the plunging process. - Step 4
Bang! You’re done! It’s recommended to dilute your brew with a splash of hot water or milk.
Grind tip: If it’s hard to plunge, your coffee may be too finely ground.
